Two years ago, on July 24, IAS Venkitaraman was appointed District Collector and he joined on July 26. He was removed from this post on 1 August. In 2015, Shriram was appointed as ‘Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Food and Public Distribution’ in the Ministry of Food and Public Distribution.

After graduation, Shriram’s friend Lakhmi asked him to try for UPSC exams. Shriram’s friend Lakhmi said that if Shriram becomes an IAS officer, he will be able to make good use of his medical knowledge. Shriram considered his friend’s suggestion and finally decided to prepare for UPSC.

After this the Kerala government had to change its decision. It is alleged that IAS Shriram Venkitaraman had hit the journalist with his car while drunk. The journalist had died in the accident. IAS Shriram Venkitaraman was made the main accused in this incident that took place on August 3, 2019. The IAS has now been made the General Manager of Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited.
