Bureaucrats Magazine – Suhas LY is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and para badminton player. He was born on July 2, 1983 in Karnataka. He was the district magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar, also known as Noida. He was the first IAS officer to win a medal at the Paralympics.
Bureaucrats Magazine – Suhas LY won a silver medal at the 2020 Paralympics. He has also won medals in other international tournaments. He was the world number two at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. He received the Arjuna Award in 2021.
Suhas LY has an impairment in one of his ankles. He was at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19 in Uttar Pradesh.
Suhas LY was transferred and posted as Secretary, Sports and Youth Welfare.

Bureaucrats Magazine – 2007 batch IAS officer and former DM of Gautam Budh Nagar (Noida), Mr. Suhas LY, an ace para-badminton player of India as well, has qualified for the Asian Para Games. He will represent India in badminton sports in this prestigious event. The Asian Para Games will be held in China this year.
Mr. Suhas won all the matches of the trial series organized for selection. Representing Uttar Pradesh, he defeated Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh in the final matches.
It is worth mentioning here that Mr. Suhas also holds the post of Sports Secretary of the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
Bureaucrats Magazine – Informing about his qualification, he shared a post on Twitter and wrote, “Happy to share that I qualified for Asian Para Games 2023 to be held in China in October. Won all the matches in selection trials. Win against Haryana, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh ensured ticked to Asian Para Games. Trials for selection of Indian team was held in Noida. Jai hind”
Para Asian Games will be organized in the month of October this year.
Bureaucrats Magazine – Apart from being a famous IAS officer, Mr. Suhas is also a well-known para badminton player. He has won many medals in international tournaments, including Tokyo Paralympic Games in 2021. He won the silver and bronze medal in the last two Para Olympics.
His ranking is number one in the country. He is the number two player in the world.
A trial series was organized at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Stadium in Greater Noida to select the team for the Para Asian Games. Mr. Suhas won all the matches in the trial series.
