Bureaucrats Magazine – P Guruprasad has taken charge as the new Managing Director of Generation Corporation/Transmission Corporation on Friday morning. At Shakti Bhavan Lucknow, he took charge from outgoing Managing Director Senthil Pandian C. After this, he held a meeting with the directors and senior officials of the Generation Corporation and Transmission Corporation and held a detailed discussion regarding the power plants of the Generation Corporation. The Managing Director also obtained information regarding the progress of the power plants and transmission lines under construction.
Bureaucrats Magazine – P Guruprasad, a native of Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, is a 1999 batch IAS, but after completing his graduation degree in Mechanical Engineering, he has done M.Tech in Computer Science, which is probably considered to be the main reason for being given the responsibility of Managing Director in the Production Corporation. Before becoming the MD of Production Corporation, from 2001 till now, he has been working on the post of District Magistrate of districts like Bhadohi, Chandauli, Mau, Bijnor, Jalaun, Fatehpur, Etawah and Prayagraj.
Bureaucrats Magazine – He has also discharged responsibilities on the posts like Commissioner of Gorakhpur, Managing Director of UPSRTC and Commissioner Excise. However, in the current months of scorching heat, he has been given the charge of the electricity system of the state, the challenge of which is now in front of him.
