IAS Jitendra Yadav of Chhattisgarh cadre is an inspiration

IAS Jitendra Yadav belongs to the 2019 batch of Chhattisgarh cadre IAS. Originally, he is from Haryana. Jitendra Yadav, who completed his school education from a small village, had previously been an IPS before becoming an IAS.

Date of Birth and Family:- IAS Jitendra Yadav, from the Chhattisgarh cadre, hails from the Karnawas village in Rewari district of Haryana state. He was born on August 5, 1990. His father, Surendra Singh Yadav, worked in the electricity board after retiring from the Air Force. His mother, Mrs. Santosh Devi, is a homemaker. Jitendra has an elder sister. Among the two children of his parents, Jitendra is the younger one.


Jitendra Yadav passed his exams from the government senior secondary school in Karanwasa in his village up to the tenth grade. Then he passed the 12th grade in mathematics from the Yaduvanshi School in Dohki. Then he cracked the AIEEE exam and took admission in electronics and communication engineering at NIT Kurukshetra. After passing engineering in 2013, Jitendra was selected as an ASO. He also worked in the Ministry of Minority Affairs for 6 months. Then he left his job to prepare for the UPSC exams and focused on his studies.

UPSC Selection:- Political Science and International Relations was their optional subject for UPSC. In the very first attempt of UPSC, Jitendra Yadav reached the interview stage based on sheer hard work but missed the final selection. In the second attempt of UPSC in 2016, Jitendra cleared the UPSC with Prelims, Mains, and Interview securing the 622nd rank and was selected for IPS. He got the Himachal Pradesh cadre and the batch of 2017 IPS. While training for IPS, he prepared for UPSC again and on his third attempt, he was selected for IAS in UPSC 2018 with a rank of 403.

Professional Career: Jitendra Yadav joined the IAS on August 26, 2019. He was appointed as Assistant Collector in Durg district for field training. During this time, the phase of COVID was going on. Then he became the SDM in Bhanupratappur, Kanker district. During his time as SDM, he did good work in the corona vaccination. After Kanker, he became the CEO of Jashpur district. In Jashpur, he did good work in providing employment to the disabled people in NREGA and in the education sector. Then he became the CEO of the Raigad district panchayat. During his time as CEO, his work in the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme is commendable. His district Raigad is one of the top 5 districts in the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme.
