As a child, Priya Rani faced strong resistance from her village concerning her pursuit of education. Undeterred, she continued her studies while living in a rented house in the city, with her parents working tirelessly to support her. Her achievements now garner admiration even from those who once opposed her. This remarkable journey of IAS officer Priya Rani, who has also gained considerable recognition on social media, exemplifies resilience and perseverance.

Priya Rani, hailing from Kurkuri village in Phulwari Sharif, has brought immense pride to Bihar by securing the 69th rank in the UPSC examination. Her journey to success was marked by significant challenges, particularly resistance to her education within her village. Despite this, her grandfather’s steadfast support was instrumental in her educational pursuits, leading her to achieve her IAS dream.

Around 20 years ago, her grandfather made the pivotal decision to send her to Patna for better educational opportunities, defying the strong local opposition to girls’ education. With unwavering support from her grandfather and father, Priya lived in a rented house in Patna and completed her schooling.

After earning a degree in electrical engineering from BIT Mesra, Priya began her preparation for the UPSC exams. Her initial efforts saw her securing a position in the Indian Defense Service on her second attempt. However, her aspiration to become an IAS officer remained unfulfilled. Despite setbacks, including a third attempt failure, Priya’s perseverance paid off. In her fourth attempt, she achieved her goal, becoming an IAS officer and embodying the spirit of resilience and determination.

Priya Rani attributes her impressive success to a disciplined routine and relentless hard work. Rising at 4 a.m. daily, she devoted herself to studying, with a particular focus on economics, supplemented by NCERT books and newspapers. Priya views education as life’s greatest asset and urges young people to remain committed to their goals and exert consistent effort. Her journey serves as a beacon of inspiration for the entire state of Bihar, demonstrating that girls are capable of achieving remarkable feats when given encouragement and opportunity.

Priya’s achievements have brought a wave of pride to her village, transforming the sentiments of those who once opposed her education. Her story exemplifies how unwavering dedication and perseverance can turn dreams into reality.
