IAS Swati Meena, Success Story: Passing the UPSC exam and becoming an IAS officer is indeed very difficult. Many people tend to give up in between and switch to other government jobs. Many people attempt the UPSC CSE exam to become IPS, IFS, or IAS. Yes, it is absolutely true that passing the UPSC exam is very difficult. Millions of people take this exam every year, but only about a thousand make it to the final list. Many candidates take the help of coaching while preparing, but some people pass this difficult exam by studying on their own without coaching. One such example is Swati Meena Nayak, who at the young age of just 22, passed the UPSC in her first attempt and became the youngest IAS officer in her batch.
IAS Swati Meena hails from the Sikar district of Rajasthan. She is an officer of the 2008 batch in the Madhya Pradesh cadre. In the year 2007, at the young age of just 22, she cleared the UPSC exam in her first attempt. That year, she secured the 260th rank in the whole of India. She became the youngest IAS officer in her batch. The central government has recently appointed IAS Swati as the new head of the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department. This department falls under the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.
Swati previously served as the Secretary in the Women and Child Development Department of the Madhya Pradesh government. She is known for her dedication and hard work. Her mother, Dr. Saroj Meena, used to run a petrol pump, and her father later became an officer in the Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS). She completed her schooling in Ajmer and pursued a diploma from Ajmer’s Sophia Girls College. Her younger sister is an officer in the 2011 batch of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS).
In an interview, Swati mentioned that her mother always wanted her to become a doctor. However, when Swati was in the eighth grade, her aunt got married and she started working as an officer. Seeing this, Swati also decided to become an officer. During her UPSC preparation, Swati received full support from her father. Today, Swati is a well-known IAS officer in the country.
