Sameer Verma, who cleared the UPSC exam in 2002 and became IAS of UP cadre, never looked back in his service life after his training. After becoming IAS, Sameer Verma had 22 postings during his nearly 20 years of service, out of which he had worked as Collector of different districts 10 times. Today is the birthday of Sameer Verma, who held the charge of District Magistrate in the districts for a long time.
Sameer Verma, born on 21 November 1972 in the state of Madhya Pradesh, started his career in Uttar Pradesh as an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer in the year 2002. After training in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, IAS Sameer Verma was made Joint Magistrate in Farrukhabad on 6 August 2004. After working in Farrukhabad for about 7 months, he was posted in Prayagraj district on 16 March 2005. Sameer Verma remained posted in Prayagraj for more than a year.From there, the Uttar Pradesh government promoted him and made him the Chief Development Officer of Bareilly district on 26 April 2006. Sameer Verma, who worked as CDO in Bareilly for 19 days, was sent as CDO of Shahjahanpur on 15 May 2006.
After a tenure of about 2 months, Sameer Verma was given the responsibility of District Officer of Mahoba district for the first time on 22 July 2006. Exactly 11 months later, on June 22, 2007, the then Mayawati government sent him as Collector to Hardoi district instead of Mahoba. Sameer Verma had made his mark among the public as the District Magistrate of Hardoi. This was the reason why he continued working as DM in Hardoi for almost 2 years. After this, on 12 March 2008, he was made DM of Hamirpur district.
Sameer Verma continued working in this district also for about one and a half years. On 14 August 2009, he was sent from Hamirpur to Lakhimpur Kheri, after Lakhimpur Kheri to Moradabad and on 16 April 2012, he was sent as DM of an important district like Varanasi. Meanwhile, he had to go for training but his responsibility as Collector of Banaras continued. After coming back from training, IAS Sameer Verma was sent to Mathura on 24 August 2012 and as DM of Kanpur city on 13 April 2013.
