Lucknow: There will be changes in the UP bureaucracy. Six IAS officers of 1998 batch, who became Principal Secretaries after being promoted from Secretary, have been waiting for their new responsibilities. IAS officer Alok Kumar, Third Secretary, UP Planning and Programme Implementation, who was posted as Secretary in his department, has been promoted as Principal Secretary of the same department. IAS officer Anil Kumar is posted on the post of Third Managing Director Jal Nigam Urban and Secretary City Development. The post of Jal Nigam MD is held by an IAS officer of the rank of Secretary, while the Principal Secretary has been there and there are two Principal Secretaries in the Urban Development Department at present. The first Principal Secretary of Urban Development is IAS Amrit Abhijat. Anil Kumar, after promotion, has become the principal secretary and can be sent to another department. IAS officer Anil Kumar Sagar, who is posted as secretary in the department of UP Industrial Development, has been made principal secretary in the department. As he is retiring, it remains to be seen whether Sagar will get a new responsibility. The fourth name is of Pandhari Yadav, who has become Principal Secretary from Secretary in the Department of External Aided Projects. The fifth is IAS Ajay Chauhan, who was recently transferred from Housing Commissioner and made Secretary PWD. After getting promotion in PWD dept, he has become Principal Secretary, where Principal Secretary IAS Narendra Bhushan is already posted. Chouhan can be made the Principal Secretary of any other department.
