Every year lakhs of candidates appear for the UPSC Civil Services Examination but only a few of them reach the final stage and achieve success. But today we are telling the success story of a female candidate who prepared for UPSC while working and had already cracked the attempt exam. We are talking about Neha Banerjee, who had secured 20th rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2019.
Bureaucrats Magazine -Engineering, Jobs and UPSC…When Neha’s father passed away in 2011, her mother raised her as a single parent. Neha was good in studies from the beginning. In the year 2018, he studied engineering from IIT Kharagpur. After engineering, he also got a job in a company in Noida. She says that it was important for her to remain financially independent, so she could not leave her job. Therefore, along with his job, he started preparing for UPSC exam.
It was during his job that he thought of giving UPSC exam. Along with the job, he started preparing for UPSC. Worked in the office the whole day and after coming home, prepared for the exam.

Prepared for the exam along with job and secured 20th rank. In an interview she had told that at first I was a little nervous. The reason behind this was engineering background. He started his preparation by reading newspapers. He started liking reading newspapers and in the second phase he understood the syllabus and method of preparation. He was thrilled by the fact that now he would get a chance to understand new subjects like History, Geography, GS, Politics etc.
Bureaucrats Magazine –It also appealed to him that this destination can be achieved by understanding the syllabus, planning, strategy and hard work. He started knowing the syllabus, listened to a lot of toppers. The journey of many toppers impressed him.
Bureaucrats Magazine -Left job 15 days before interview………..Neha tells that after passing UPSC Prelims and Mains exam, the interview was the last step for her. But on the other hand, he left the job 15 days before the interview and focused on interview preparation. In a video interview, Neha told that she was asked a tricky question that who is bigger in science or religion, when I told both are different fields, then the interviewer said that science is based on logic and religion is related to your faith. Yes, whom do you consider bigger?
Bureaucrats Magazine –Neha says that here your personality is tested through questions. I also tried to give a balanced answer. In response to this I said that both have different roles, why should both be mixed. Both give different directions. Science takes us forward in a different way and religion gives us strength in a different way. This answer was liked by the panel.
