Bureaucrats Magazine –You must have heard the name of Bavaris. The same Bavariya, who are known as Kachha-Baniyan, Sariamar and nomadic gangs. It is their custom to worship before committing a crime and it is virtuous to shed blood during the crime. Women and children also do not hesitate at all in looting. IAS officer Nagendra Pratap Singh has taken up the responsibility of showing the right path to such a spoiled tribe. This work took four years but his hard work bore fruits.
Bureaucrats Magazine –The wind of change blew in the village of Bavaris such that women gave up making illegal liquor. People started sending children to school. Some girls from villages are even getting higher education in Delhi.
NP Singh was sent there as DM in January 2014, immediately after the Shamli riots. At some distance from where the displaced families had taken shelter during the riots, there were 12 villages of Bawaris (Rampura, Khoksa, Nayabas, Ahmedgarh, Khedi Junnardar, Khanpur Kalan, Biralian, Jatan Khanpura, Mastgarh, Dera Bhagirath, Dudhli and Alauddinpur).
Bureaucrats Magazine –I had heard a lot about the Bawaris, so out of curiosity one day I reached their village. There was silence in the village, the doors of the houses were closed. Next day, when we went to another village, we talked to the chief there and after gathering information, we came to know that the people of this tribe do not study. Women are involved in illegal liquor trade.
