IAS Garima Agrawal cleared IPS in 1st attempt, but tried again for USPC and became successful

Garima Agrawal has always possessed a strong desire to learn new things, regardless of the success she has already achieved. She set a challenging goal for herself: to pass the UPSC exam.

IAS Garima Agrawal Success Story: Garima Agrawal’s journey to success is truly inspirational. Hailing from a business family, she excelled academically, scoring 89% in her 10th grade and 92% in her 12th grade. A significant turning point in Garima’s life was passing the JEE exam, which led her to IIT Hyderabad, where she earned an engineering degree. Following her graduation, she broadened her horizons through an internship in Germany.

Garima has always had a passion for learning new things, regardless of her past achievements. She set a challenging goal for herself: to pass the UPSC exam. Through hard work and dedication, she scored 240 marks and realized her dream of becoming an IPS officer. However, this was not the end of her journey. Encouraged by her initial success, Garima embarked on another challenging path. While fulfilling her duties as an IPS officer, she continued to prepare for her ultimate goal of becoming an IAS officer.

Garima employed extensive strategies to prepare for the UPSC exam. She believes that thorough preparation is crucial for all three phases: prelims, mains, and the interview. From her experience, she noted that some subjects may overlap between the prelims and mains exams. Currently serving as an Assistant District Magistrate in Telangana, Garima reappeared for the exam in 2018 with unwavering determination and secured AIR 40. She emphasizes the importance of consistent practice and taking mock tests to improve writing skills. Her remarkable success demonstrates that achieving one’s goals requires not just studying but also proper planning and focused effort.
