A 2020-batch IAS officer, she secured an impressive All India Rank 30 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2019. She is also known as the first woman IAS officer from the Bishnoi community.
Born on February 26, 1996, in Bikaner, Rajasthan, Bishnoi comes from a family with a strong public service background. Her father, Maniram Bishnoi, is an advocate, while her mother, Sushila Bishnoi, serves as a Police Inspector in the Government Railway Police. Her grandfather, Gopiram Bishnoi, was a four-time village sarpanch.
She studied at St. Mary’s Convent School in Ajmer and later graduated from Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi. She went on to complete her post-graduation in Political Science from Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer. She also cleared the UGC-NET and Junior Research Fellowship.
Bishnoi decided to pursue civil services while still in school. Her journey was not easy. She faced setbacks in her early attempts but stayed focused. To prepare better, she stepped away from social media and distractions, dedicating herself fully to studies. Her efforts paid off in her third attempt, when she secured a top rank at the age of 23.
In her career so far, she has served as Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, worked as Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Gangtok, and also held the position of Deputy Resident Commissioner at Sikkim House in New Delhi.
