Bureaucrats Magazine -IAS Sarjana Yadav is an IAS officer of 2019 batch.  He has graduated in engineering from Delhi Technological University. After graduation, he started working as a research officer in TRAI.  He passed the UPSC exam in his third attempt. 

Sarjana Yadav believes that while preparing for UPSC exam, candidates can clear their doubts with the help of Google. He says that Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is one of the toughest examinations in the country.

Sometimes they think that coaching is very important to crack this exam.But still some candidates have a different viewpoint. Sarjana cleared UPSC in her third attempt and her story will remove any doubts about coaching. According to Sarjana Yadav, she gave her first two attempts while working full time.

Bureaucrats Magazine – However, she could not clear and failed. Due to lack of time, she left her job in 2018 and started preparing for UPSC with full dedication. In 2019, he achieved AIR 126 rank in Civil Services Examination by studying on his own at home. He finally tasted success in his third attempt.

Bureaucrats Magazine– Sarjana says that it depends on the desire of the candidate whether he wants to take coaching or not. If you feel that you have complete study material and your strategy for UPSC is better then you can rely on self study and can also achieve success.

For this, reading 2-3 books for each subject will make it difficult for you to complete the syllabus within the stipulated time. She suggests that one should choose a good book for every subject and read it thoroughly.


Apart from this, if the person does not get proper guidance then he can also take coaching. However, if you are not able to take coaching then there is no need to be disappointed. You can pass the exam without coaching even by self-study at home.
