Bureaucrats Magazine -Anita Praveen IAS given Addl charge as Secretary, Ministry of Tourism… Ms Anita Praveen IAS (Tamil Nadu 1989) presently Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, has been given additional charge of the post of Secretary, Ministry of Tourism from 26.08.2023 to 06.09.2023 during the period of absence on leave of Ms V Vidyavathi IAS (KN 1991).

Bureaucrats Magazine –AMCHAM’s Agriculture & Food Processing Committee organized a roundtable interaction with Ms. Anita Praveen, Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India on March 15th. The interaction was organized for members to share their issues and concerns pertaining to the food processing sector. Ms. Ranjana Khanna, Director General CEO, AMCHAM welcomed the Secretary and participants. She spoke about the emergence of India’s food processing sector and its increasing contribution to GDP, employment and investments. Mr. Rahul Kapoor, Assistant Director – Sales and Marketing, Carrier Airconditioning and Refrigeration Limited, Mr. Prakash MG, Managing Director, Indian Sub-continent, International Flavours & Fragrances, Mr. Pankaj Mahajan, Director – Indian Subcontinent, Corporate Affairs, Cargill, Ms. Devyani Rana, Vice President – PACS, India & Southwest Asia, Coca – Cola, Ms. Parna Dasgupta, Director, Regulatory & Government Affairs, AMEA (Asia, Africa, Middle East), Kellogg’s, Mr. Himanshu Priyadarshi, Director – Public Policy and Government Affairs, PepsiCo, Mr. Rahul Sharma, India Sales Development Manager- Food Markets, Agilent Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. and Ms. Anita Kumar, Cisco shared their issues during the session. Various concerns ranging from GST issues, labelling challenges, cargo disruptions, outdated guidelines, MEIS, edible oil pricing, FTAs, etc. were discussed.
