<p>Former RBI Governor <strong>Shaktikanta Das</strong> (Retd IAS: 1980: TN) has been appointed as <strong>Principal Secretary-2 to the Prime Minister of India</strong>. His tenure will remain <strong>co-terminus with the Prime Minister’s term</strong> or until further orders. He will serve alongside <strong>Dr. P.K. Mishra</strong>, who continues as <strong>Principal Secretary-1</strong>.</p>



<p>Das recently concluded his extended tenure as the <strong>25th Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI)</strong> on <strong>December 10, 2024</strong>, passing the baton to <strong>Sanjay Malhotra (IAS: 1990: RJ)</strong>, the former Revenue Secretary and now the <strong>26th RBI Governor</strong>.</p>



<p>A seasoned bureaucrat with an extensive background in economic policymaking, Das previously held key roles in the <strong>Ministry of Finance</strong>, including as <strong>Finance Secretary Designate</strong>, where he played a pivotal role in shaping India&#8217;s fiscal and economic strategies.</p>



<p>His appointment brings a wealth of expertise in <strong>monetary policy, fiscal governance, and financial regulation</strong>, further strengthening the <strong>Prime Minister’s Office (PMO)</strong> in critical decision-making processes<br><br><br></p>
